PUSHTYPE vs Wispr Flow

A Wispr Flow alternative that stays on your Mac.

Wispr Flow sends your voice to its servers and costs $144 a year for Pro.  PUSHTYPE transcribes on your Mac, puts text on screen in 0.12 s instead of 0.83 s, adds inline autocomplete, and costs $35 once.  Wispr Flow is the better pick if you need Windows, iPhone, or Android.

Where Wispr Flow does better

It runs on Windows, iPhone, and Android, and PUSHTYPE is Mac only.  It has a free plan.  Its server rewrites words using the rest of the sentence, so it sometimes fixes a word you misspoke, and in our accuracy test it restored the umlaut in Zürich 5 times out of 12, where PUSHTYPE wrote Zurich.  If you need dictation on a phone or a PC, Wispr Flow is the one to pick.

Why people switch

Privacy: with PUSHTYPE your audio becomes text on your Mac and is thrown away; nothing you say or type is uploaded or used to train anyone's model.  Price: one payment instead of a subscription.  Speed: no network round trip, so the text is there when you let go.  And TYPE: the same app finishes your sentences as you type, in gray at the cursor.

Pricing

$35 once for Talk and TYPE, on up to 3 Macs.  Every future Mac update included, all models included, 14-day refund with no questions.  Launch price; $50 after launch.
